DIY: Face Wash For All Skin Types

Hello again! I have tried SOOO many face washes, both cheap and expensive, and now I have found it. The one face wash that has improved my skin so much that it is unbelievable. And the silly thing is that it is dirt cheap. It only has two ingredients: olive oil and castor oil. I found the recipe on the internet about three months ago, and thought that I´d try it.

Olive oil is a very effective moisturiser and makeup remover. This means that I don´t have to remove any makeup before, not even waterproof mascara. The moisturising part means that I don´t get anywhere near as dry and flaky skin as i get in winter.

Castor oil is the important ingredient. It  goes deep in to the skin to  get rid of the clogging dirt deep down. It is also anti-septic and anti-inflammatory.

How to make it:

Oily skin: Mix 30% castor oil and 70% olive oil

Combination skin: Mix 25% oil and 75% olive oil

Normal skin: Mix 20% castor oil and 80% olive oil

Dry skin: Mix 10% castor oil and 90% olive oil

Because castor oil is very deep cleansing and thus dires your skin out a bit. So you have to try until you find exactly the right amount. Above are some guide lines.
Mix into a bottle with a tight lid and shake. Done!

How to use it:

Pour an amount the size of a 5p coin in to your palm. Rub the oil between you hands to warm it up and massage it on to your face. Focus on areas of congestion.
Let a face cloth run under hot water and apply the damp cloth to your face to open up your pores. Then gently wipe your face to get rid of the oils. Repeat till your face doesn´t feel oily any more. Usually takes two to three times.
Then splash some cold water on your face and wipe it dry.

Love, Heggie
